A little history
After three centuries of English presence in Aquitaine, since the time of Eleanor, the French king Charles VII decided to reconquer the province. For the first time on a battlefield, the power and precision of artillery decimated the troops of the English general John Talbot. The Battle of Castillon marks the decline of chivalry and the end of the Middle Ages.
