On May 12th, the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation celebrated the excellence of its terroir with the 8th edition of the Castillon Wine Awards. For this 2025 edition, the event took place in a refined yet friendly setting: the restaurant Ressources in Bordeaux, hosted by Michelin-starred chef Tanguy Laviale.

A blind tasting led by a panel of local experts

No fewer than 59 wine samples were submitted for a rigorous blind tasting. The result? 23 finalists, divided into four categories, reflecting the full diversity and richness of the appellation:

  • Fresh & Friendly

  • Gourmet & Seductive

  • Powerful & Surprising

  • Unique & Atypical

To select the winners, a passionate and demanding all-local jury stepped up. Among them: Brice Raymond, Manuel Brandao, Thomas Duclos, Mikael Laizet, Fabien Faget, Ludwig Vanneron, Jérôme Gagnez, Jane Anson, Stéphane Derenoncourt, Jean-Christophe Meyrou, and Thomas Guibert — a group of sharp palates to judge wines full of character.

7 winners, 7 unique expressions of Castillon

In the end, 7 cuvées won over the jury, capturing the commitment of the winemakers, the honesty of their practices, and the vibrant energy of the Castillon soils.

Fresh, gourmet, powerful, unique — a true showcase of everything that makes this appellation so alive and exciting.
